Creating this image was very interesting as I had to use many gradient and curves adjustment layers to get the colors to blend well together. I used several masks to conceal and reveal certain parts of the paint splashes in order to make it look as if it was really coming off the shoe. I added adjustment layers to change the overall appearance of the image and added shadows to make it more authentic. The colors came out great and I am very satisfied with the end result.

Mini World

In order to make this miniature world, I needed to manipulate several objects and place them in certain positions as well as create individual shadows for them so they all appear legitimate. I had to use masks to create the base and I created the sphere using the 3D capability of Photoshop. I used different brushes to create the birds and clouds and I also added some text to the hand drawn banner from the plane. I added a blue background but I realized that using a gradient as a background would have looked better. Overall, I was satisfied with this prooject even though I could have tweaked a few things.

This project required the use of Photoshop's 3D capabilities and thus required much rendering to achieve a good quality. I first created the text and chose a vibrant color that would stand out from the sky background. After extruding the text, I positioned it so it would fit in the cube I would make. To make the crystal cube, I created a cube from the presets in Photoshop and changed its properties so it had a good refraction level and so it looked like it was made out of glass. I then rotated both the text and cube to show their depths and positioned the sky background in an aesthetic way. After rendering the cube and text, I was satisfied with the end result.

Crystal Cube

This project also required 3D tools and rendering. I found a Tron font online and typed my name out but the "C" was not attached to the "E" so I edited it to make it look like they were connected. After duplicating the layer, I extruded the text and added some shadows. I used the duplicated layer to add the glowing effects and more shadows. Once I finished my name, I created the "Legacy" text by simply adding a glow to it. For the "Lincoln Park Academy" I found a Disney font online and used that. The same effects were applied. For the city, I took a skyline image of New York and desaturated it the colorized it to be blue. The grid was first created in Illustrator and then distorted in Photoshop. I also added some blue glow effects to this. Finally, I rendered some clouds, made them blue, and erased around it to make it subtle.

4th Nine weeks reflection
These last nine weeks have been interesting as I got the chance to use the 3D features of Photoshop in many of my projects. Rendering takes a long time and the tools used in Photoshop 3D are strange and took some time to figure out. The sneaker project was the easiest out of the ones I did during this period as it did not require much 3D work and it involved simple adjustment layers. I learned about curves and levels while doing this project, which helped me understand how to do the other ones. The mini world took a longer time because it had several elements and required many steps to complete. It was a fun project because it involved mayn different pictures and manipulations. The crystal cube took a long time to make because of the rendering but I learned about 3D features so I think it was worth the wait as it came out great. The Tron text project was the most soplex because it combined 3D with several other methods and features including drawing stuff out in Illustrator. There were so many layers that it became hard to keep track of where they were. Overall, these nine weeks have been challenging but I gained much experience form them.
